i made myself smaller, so you could be better - what makes you think i didn’t try? so callous, so cold. it’s not getting old. use me up and then put me aside. i don’t think it was worth it! never said i was perfect, but what makes think you have the right? you wanna hijack our politics? you wanna reach some new markets? well, now i’m peeling off the rind. don’t ask questions, i just gotta play nice. don’t i deserve something more than fine? (no!) you want the fresh stuff, the content, the product, the rush - a song to justify yr love, ‘cos you only love us when we’re trying. you only love us when we’re dying, something “real” to watch tonight. i don’t think it was worth it. i guess i got my hands dirty, but now i’m peeling off the rind.

Terms 02:26
if we only argue on their terms, then we’ll never, ever win. our worthiness is based on their concept of sin, and our art cannot be measured like it’s some capitalist thing. if we let them set the terms then they’ll win. the industry wants our activism, but it’s a little late to sing. see? i can do this rhyme scheme too! but whether they’ll listen is a different fish in a different kettle at the bottom of a different bin. if we let them set the terms then they’ll win. they want us singing from some bullshit english hymn. they want our money, our tears - their pockets are suddenly thin! their cups runneth over with the blood of the people whose work that they stole, so now we take back what we’re owed. if we argue on their terms, then we’ll never ever win. the blindness is a symptom of the failed liberal dream. my hands have become weapons, and my teeth, and everything. we’ll set the terms, and we’ll win.
