all of our fingers are crossed for you, and they have been since the day we were born. so when the sun comes up & yr walking home, well, you’ll always have a home to go to. i can still remember the year that you went vegan. you said, “i’m done with all that poisonous shit”. something in yr voice was like a premonition of all the mistakes yet to begin. we had undergraduate inertia in that referendum summer, casting silhouettes on walls i’d never seen. and every song we ever wrote was better than the last, and everything meant something to me.
